Chocolate

Fair Trade chocolate certification ensures that all farmers receive a fair price for their raw product and allows them to invest in growing techniques that sustainably bring out the flavors of their region.  It also strictly prohibits both slave and child labor.

01      Why is ethically produced chocolate important?

Cocoa farmers are often forced to sell their harvest to middlemen who rig scales or misrepresent prices. Media reports of child slavery have also brought to light the stark contrast between the delicious treat we enjoy and the difficult conditions of the people who produce it. When you buy ehtically produced chocolate, you are supporting a system that builds up a community, rather than tearing it down.  Among other things, Fair Trade chocolate certification ensures that all farmers receive a fair price for their raw product and allows them to invest in growing techniques that sustainably bring out the flavors of their region.  It also strictly prohibits both slave and child labor.
